Santa Rosa, CA February 23, 2014

OrganiCann, a leader recognized for its impeccable quality, professionalism and strict standards in the fast growing cannabis industry has launched its first annual packaging design competition. The decision to launch the art competition is the brainchild of OrganiCann and the Natural Cannabis Company founder, Dona Frank. “Art and Cannabis have long been linked and the annual art competition personifies our commitment to that connection in a groundbreaking way. We look forward to forging a long term kinship between art and our premier brands with a new design enshrined on our product packaging each year,” said Frank.

Winners will have their creative designs used in the packaging of three premier brands matched to specific products, including Mendocann, Royal Humboldt and Kronic Kush. The artists challenge will be to design three artistic visual designs that will match the products.

Hosted by Juxtapoz.com, the judging begins with a one week public voting process which will be narrowed to six finalists. Finalists will be reviewed by a panel of judges including, Skinner, a self taught artist based in Oakland, CA. Skinner, whose work has been showcased in museums, galleries and universities throughout the world, was drawn to the art challenge because of the potential for engagement with a global diverse art community.

“The global cannabis movement is upon us as a broad consensus about the medical and therapeutic benefits of marijuana and is realized worldwide. As an artist who embraces artistic diversity, the High Art Challenge is a compelling symbol of the movement. I am delighted to be a judge for this revolutionary contest and look forward to viewing all the great and diverse art that will be presented as part of the challenge,” said Skinner.
