Cleveland School of Cannabis Receives First Career School State Approval in Country East of Colorado

Publication Date: 12/13/2017

Cleveland School of Cannabis, formerly Cleveland Cannabis College, the first brick and mortar educational facility in Ohio for cannabis education, this week announced they have received State approval, making them the first career school east of Colorado with state-approved career programs.

The Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools approved all four programs by the Cleveland School of Cannabis, contingent upon the occupancy permit from the city, scheduled later this week.

“As an educational facility that is working to advance the study and understanding of cannabis in our country today, we are incredibly honored to be the second State approved institution in the country right now,” said Richard Pine, Dean of Recruitment and Public Relations at the Cleveland School of Cannabis.

Winter registration is now open for classes starting at the school in January. The state approved certificates run from $6,500 to $12,500, with program hours ranging from 136 to 266.5 in total. They also offer single courses ranging from $350 to $1,000, and even offer state-mandated classes, just for physicians and dispensaries.

“With over 4,000 jobs being created in the Ohio cannabis industry, space is limited and filling up quickly,” said Pine. “We urge anyone who is interested to sign up either online or to stop in and speak with one of our Admission Representatives.”

The Cleveland School of Cannabis now offers certificate programs in Cannabis Business, Cannabis Horticulture, Medical Applications of Cannabis, and Cannabis Executive, which is a combination of all three. Their certificate programs are considered at the same level of an accounting certificate, real estate certificate, paralegal certificate, etc.

Recently, the school secured a few of their students in a special Oregon internship program called Trim for Training, where they completed one-of-a-kind hands-on training for a few months. In addition, Cleveland School of Cannabis also has plans to expand into Cincinnati and Columbus.
