G-PMC, LLC Announces Its Medical & Legalized Recreational Cannabis Accreditation (CAN-9009:2013)
For the Medical or Legalized Recreational Cannabis business, whether it be growing, storing, subcontracting, testing, security, or distribution, quality is absolutely essential to keep consumers safe from migration of poor quality substitutes into the supply chain. According to Jim Davidson Director of Accreditation for ILG all manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors involved in growing, storing, subcontracting, testing, security, distribution for the medical and legalized cannabis industry must be accredited to CAN-9009:2013 standards. Davidson said the Industrial Leaders Group (ILG), a leading independent accreditation body for quality assurance for nearly a decade specializing in the manufacturing sector said ILG is the only accredited organization with this specific designation of quality medical and legalized recreational cannabis certification. “In order to obtain this unique accreditation requires specialized audits against specific CAN-9009:2013 requirement quality metrics. It’s important to note CAN-9009:2013 is a system accreditation against quality metrics and its focus is exclusively on the system,” said Davidson.
CAN-9009:2013 Certification Requirements
According to ILG, due to the secure nature of materials, manufacturing processes, and security, the CAN-9009:2013 accreditation and registration program demands that company’s seeking this certification is required to safeguard and not to release any documentation relating to the standard, since any information about the process or the products could compromise the safety and integrity of the products and services being rendered by the consumer. CAN-9009:2013 system accreditation is a non-negotiable requirement for growing, storing, subcontracting, testing, security, and distribution of cannabis materials, production equipment and services in the United States, all of which is subject to local, state and national laws. To ensure the strictest quality standards are thoroughly and consistently practiced by the certified company, CAN-9009:2013 certification/accreditation is solely administered by the registrar G-PMC, LLC, and is overseen by (ILG) Industrial Leaders Group.
For nearly a decade the Industrial Leaders Group (ILG) has been providing standards for the Medical and Legalized Recreational Marijuana industry in the areas of research & development, fertilizing, manufacturing, production, laboratory practices, climate control, equipment utilization, security, software, specialty processes, greenhouses, storage facilities, packaging & labeling, distribution, logistics and dispensary operations. ILG has issued highly specialized standards for systems utilized in the manufacturing, distribution and development of medical and legalized recreational marijuana products to ensure the highest quality practices are followed in all phases of the development and manufacturing process from system concept to consumer pickup and delivery. ILG is the only accreditation body setting quality standards based on industry requirements set forth by The Quality Medical Cannabis Group of America (QMCGA) and the American Quality Herbal Products Association (AQHPA)
Daryl Guberman, president of GUBERMAN-PMC, LLC said unlike the generic ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, it’s important to note that CAN-9009:2013 audits are system-specific and precisely comprehensive to the Medical Cannabis and Legalized Recreational Cannabis industry. Guberman stated, “This should not be in anyway confused with ISO, AS, TS designations or any other ANAB/ANSI-ASQ requirements or other accreditation or registration companies. ” He added, “Since the Medical and Legalized Recreational Cannabis certification is a system specific, standalone standard, and accredited as such, CAN-9009:2013 cannot be compared to a generic standard such as ISO 9001:2008 which because of its non-specialized quality standards has been shown to be significantly inferior to the highly specialized CAN 9009:2013 certification.” Guberman concluded “Companies in the Medical Cannabis and Legalized Recreational Cannabis business may be ISO, AS, TS certified and maintain such, but, due to the intrinsic nature of the industry, CAN-9009:2013 certification/registration is the only accredited and official controlling requirement and standard as the benchmark for the Medical and Legalized Recreational Marijuana industry. ”
In final comments Guberman said, “The confidentiality of CAN-9009:2013 is only held between G-PMC, LLC and the customer. It will not be made public in whole or part or made available to third parties by any transmitted means. In addition, due to the sensitive nature of products, and in compliance with all state, and federal, requirements, CAN-9009:2013 is not be a public domain document.”
