Ann Arbor, MI – April 12, 2022 – Derek Oldham, Corporate Trainer for Bloom City Club Ann Arbor, has earned the prestigious title of Ganjier. He is 1 of only 150 across the globe, to hold this title. Oldham is also a Certified Health Coach.
The certification process is rigorous, multi-faceted, and requires participants to travel to the iconic Humboldt, CA for instruction and the final exam.
Oldham spoke highly of the program, “The Ganjier path is an incredible opportunity to not only learn from some of the greatest names in cannabis, but to share this once forbidden knowledge with the public. Ganja is as rich as any other epicurean venture, whether it’s wine, beer, coffee, or cigars.
Unfortunately, most Budtenders are not trained on the true power of the plant. This negligence can set consumers up for quite the misadventure, potentially ruining their relationship with ganja. My goal is to train budtenders as guides, to represent the plant at the highest level, free of judgment, to serve our community.”
Oldham has dedicated his life to studying cannabis. Growing up in Oregon, he had an opportunity to harvest cannabis for two master growers. His love for cannabis was ignited during this time. Derek decided to follow his passion and spent years traveling around the globe and expanding his knowledge of cannabis.
He has been working in a leadership role at Bloom City Club for 3 years. One of the oldest provisioning centers in the state of Michigan, Bloom City Club, Ann Arbor has always prioritized consumer education. Manager, Trisha Stevens, says, “Since cannabis was illegal for so long, lots of people are still learning about the plant and its benefits. Derek, and other Ganjiers, are helping to fill those knowledge gaps. We’re lucky to have such a great resource here at Bloom.”
