Anna, IL, 3/13/2017 – Wellness Group Pharms, the only aeroponically cultivated medical cannabis in the Illinois medical marijuana market, has announced the appointment of Scott Hunter as their new General Manager. He assumed responsibilities on March 1, 2017, succeeding Paul Montes who stepped down.
Hunter has been employed in the cannabis community for 10 years, beginning in cannabis accessories, then with thrice Best-Glass (2013,14,15) Award Winner Sasquatch Glass before becoming an in-demand Washington State recreational cannabis cultivation/extraction sales/marketing/operations specialist. During that time he launched new brands while retooling the sales and marketing operations of others.
“It’s like the movie ‘Ground Hog Day’ on so many levels,” explains Hunter, comparing stepping back into the medical market to the burgeoning recreational market out west. “While I’ve awoken back in MMJ, I’ve lived all the pratfalls that come one’s way so I feel uniquely qualified for the challenges to come.”

Hunter began his career at Chicago-based manufacturer/wholesaler/retailer Evans, Inc. in the 1980’s and 90’s, where he eventually became DVP/Stores for the company’s largest division. Moving to Silicon Valley in the 90’s, he cut his teeth in the music, media, eBay and Microsoft software start-up businesses before joining the cannabis industry upon arriving in Seattle. He is a lifelong cannabis advocate, who openly espouses alternatives to the failed war on drugs.,
